Closet Challenge: Day 44-50

I'm so close to being done!  I evaluated my closet the other day and only about 1/4 of it is remaining to be worn.  Here is what I knocked out this week.

Monday I was off work so mom came up to go to lunch, browse around some shops and take Jackson to her house for a few days.  I worn this Anthro sweater with a brown tank and jeans.

Tuesday I wore this dusty blue sweater from Anthro.  I don't wear this one very often because I'm never sure what to wear with it.  The shape just doesn't seem to go well with the style of jeans I wear.  This may be a discard but I will be really upset if I do.

Wednesday I wore this bright purple silk shirt from JCrew.  I love the color of this shirt especially since I don't often wear bright colors.  Now that I'm thinking more about what I wear and purchase I should buy more items in this color because I think that it looks really great with my hair color and skin tone.

Thursday I had a doctor appointment really early in the morning in Louisville so I was going for comfort, especially since I had to drive right back to Bloomington and go to work.  I wore this Anthro sweater and my AG Stevie pants.  I'm going to keep this shirt but I'm going to resign it to loungewear because it wrinkles badly and it is a little thin.

Friday I wore this cream sweater from Anthro.  I got this during Black Friday this year.  My mom actually spotted it and wanted me to purchase it in a bright coral color (I should listen to her more) but I opted for the cream instead because the coral scared me a little.  It's super soft and super comfortable.  I couldn't get a good shot of the back but it is actually gathering in the middle of the back to make it lay prettily over your behind.

Saturday and Sunday were both lounge days so that's it for this post!

Closet Challenge: Day 36-43

Last Friday I knocked out two shirts at once.  I wore a black jersey shirt that I got from Old Navy a few years ago with a Kensie fringed sweater vest.

Last weekend was pretty low key so I only knocked out one shirt.  I went to Louisville for a lady day with my friend Lyndsey and wore this basic black shirt.  I actually bought this to be a swimsuit cover up but it didn't quite work.  Sunday was a no dress day.

Monday I wore this dress from Modcloth.  This was one of the dresses I bought when I broke a rule and bought two new items.  I mentioned earlier that I would allow myself to go ahead and wear these as an exception.  I'm still holding out with the other one.

I picked my Anthro navy blue shirt dress for Tuesday.  It's corduroy and really comfortable.  I wish more designers made dressed shaped like this one.

Wednesday I chose a patterned tank with a red JCrew cardigan over it.  Birds are everywhere lately.  I actually got this one from Target for under $20.

Yesterday I decided to be brave with my outfit choice.  I've seen the red and pink combination on celebrities like Emma Stone and SJP but never really tried it before.  What better day to do it than Valentine's Day?! I was satisfied with the outcome.  Top and bottom are JCrew.

Today I repeated my Gap bird shell (which is allowed since it is a layering piece) and topped it with my JCrew velvet blazer.  I've had this for several years and keep it because I love it too much to ever get rid of it.  If it ever goes out of fashion I'll store it back until the trend comes back around.

Closet Challenge: Day 30-35

Here are days 30 through 35!  Saturday I wore a plain black tee from JCrew.  It was really basic so I don't think you all need a picture.  Sunday we hosted a Superbowl party and I wasn't rooting for any particular team so I went neutral with this pink tee from JCrew.

Monday I wore the gray version of the green Anthro shirt that I wore a week or so ago.  I paired it with my wine Stevie pants.

Tuesday was this dusty peach sweater and green skirt, both from Anthro.  I especially love the sweater because the detail is so pretty.

My JCrew Anytime dress in red was for Wednesday.  I usually wear it with heels but I decided to try it out with my black riding boots.  I liked the combo and will definitely do it again (once I'm able to wear this again :) ).

Today I wore this shell and matching cardigan from the Gap.  It has little birds on it which are adorable.  I have a matching scarf but I thought that would be overkill.

Closet Challenge: Day 25-29

Here are this week's outfits.  I'm really starting the feel the urge to wear repeats/things that I broken the rules and purchased but I persevered another work week!

Monday was my next discard discovery.  I've had this shirt for several years and I refuse to admit that I've outgrown it in the boobs.  When I first got this, my chest was a cup size smaller.  Now that I no longer have my early 20's body, it's a little too tight in the top.

On Tuesday I wore this dress from Anthro that I got last winter.  I like this dress because it's a really heavy and stretchy material. I don't have to worry about it laying oddly or wrinkling.

Wednesday and Thursday were JCrew days.   I wore this green cashmere sweater followed by this gray sweater dress.  I will never get rid of these.  I can't even remember when I got them but I know I've had them for several years and that they were purchased at the same time.  I know that I don't really venture into a variety of stores for my clothes but it's because Anthro and JCrew have proven that their items are worth the cost.  I rarely have to to get rid of something from them because it has fallen apart or worn too much over the years. I may like to shop a little too much but I like to think that I'm smart about my purchases.

On Friday, I wore this navy blue sweater that I purchased at Von Maur about three years ago.  It's a little hard to put a jacket over because the sleeves bunch and it is very bulky but I keep it because it's really soft and comfortable.  That's another thing about my shopping style.  Unless it's for a very special occasion, I will not buy something if it's uncomfortable.  To me, it may look cute but if you're not comfortable in it than you won't feel cute which defeats the purpose.
